Warzone

March 31, 2016 · Poems

Don't wait for me to explain it to you

'cause I am not going to

No, I don't need you

to judge me for what I did

'cause you can't see the war from my side

the wars fought on the inside

the wars that I've fought alone for years

with the monsters in my head

the nights I've spent, shedding tears

shivering on my bed

I might be evil personified

on your side of the border

But I'm an angel on my side

bringing peace and order

Look inside my kaleidoscope

see the colours that hide

behind its dirty lens

come, let me show you your dark side

a dove with a gun in its nib

flying on the other side of the fence

When you're far

and I don't care

Notice how free I feel

when I talk,

Do you see freedom,

in the way I walk?

But everytime I attack, a child dies

can't see another mother with tears in her eyes

So go away! Don't make it bad for me

lets just part ways

let my people live in peace

I'm going back to my land

out of this warzone

where people sleep

where people don't feel alone

I'll now leave you behind, spread my wings to fly

and let this be my final good bye.
